A registered nurse with 30 years of experience which includes 12 years as a nurse manager, Marita has enjoyed the past 12 years of her career as a nurse recruiter. A native of Ohio, Marita graduated from Akron City Hospital School of Nursing in 1982 and then continued her education with a Masters of Science, Nursing Administration from the University of Akron in 1997. In her current role as HR Generalist for the Department of Nursing at Anne Arundel Medical Center, Marita works closely with nursing leadership as a consultant in all HR functions. Marita has also worked as a recruiter at Union Memorial Hospital and Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center.
Marita is an active member of the Maryland Association of Health Care Recruitment (MAHCR) having participated in the planning of their annual conference for 5 years, and has served on the board as secretary for 2 years and recently assumed the role of President.
Marita holds certification in Professional Human Resources (PHR) from the Society of Human Resources Management.

In February 2004, Amy embarked on a new direction in her career by taking on the role of Nurse Recruiter of Harbor Hospital. Amy is married and has two grown daughters. Amy has been one of MAHCR's most active and energetic contributors. A Nursing School graduate from the University of Maryland in 1974, Amy began her tenure at Harbor Hospital as a part-time staff RN in the Special Care Nursery. Eventually Amy worked her way up to become Manager of the unit.

Graduated from nursing school in Dec ’94 and has since obtained a BSN form University of Delaware. Tambra has been with Johns Hopkins Bayview since Feb of ’95, started as a nurse in the Surgical ICU and remained there until be selected in the Nurse Recruitment office 9 years ago. Tambra has been an active Member of MAHCR since that time serving most recently on the scholarship committee.

Over 10 years as an active member of MAHCR, Karyn has continuously donated substantial time and energy to enhance the value of our organization. Playing a vital leadership role - as both member, co-chair of our conference committee and vice president for several years - Karyn possesses an intimate understanding of the issues and expectations that MAHCR works so hard to fulfill. A graduate of Towson University, with BS degree in Business and HR concentration, Karyn is an HR Business Partner at Sinai Hospital of Baltimore.

The Scholarship Committee shall organizes, plans and evaluates the annual scholarships awarded to one (1) Allied Health Student) and One (1) Nursing Student. This committee ensures that the application form is updated each year, disseminates the information to the Association, evaluates the submissions and selects the most appropriate candidates. The application process commences in January and the scholarships are awarded in June.
Donna is a Diploma graduate from St. Joseph Hospital School of Nursing and obtained her BSN and MS in Nursing Administration at the University of Maryland. She has worked in Medical-Surgical, Telemetry, Critical Care, Nursing Management, and as Adjunct Faculty. She has been a Nurse Recruiter and active member of MAHCR for 14 years.
